The Safetree programmes support the development of people in the forest industry and it’s all about developing and growing team performance. These were piloted in 2018 with great success and now we are offering it across the sector.

 

Safetree is committed to developing all people who work in the forestry industry – not just around safety, but also around wellbeing and our ability to work as effective teams and leaders.  Many people find going on training courses daunting so our approach is “if our learners don’t learn the way we teach, we need to teach the way they learn.”

 

Our sessions are very hands on with practical activities to reinforce the skills we are talking about on the course.

 

There are several programmes to choose from - Safetree Leadership (2-days), Safetree Team Up (1-day) and Safetree Rep (2-days).

safetree leaders

Safetree Leadership (2 Days)

Who it is for: Supervisors & Foreman

 

What it’s about: The true test of our leadership is:  What happens when no one is watching? What do people choose to do when they are left to make their own decisions.

These two days will provide your supervisors with the skills to set the tone as a leader and will help create a safer and more productive worksite.

 

What your people will get:

  • How to lead a high-performance team – focussed on key results (incl. Safety)
  • How to effectively communicate to people who are different from themselves
  • How to get workers involved in solving problems and making good Safety decisions
  • How to hold people accountable without bullying
  • Focussing their teams on learning from things going right,  not just waiting for things to go wrong

Safetree-Teams

Safetree Team Up (1 Day)

Who it is for: Crew

 

What it’s about: Team Up programme will help your crews work smarter, be better at their jobs and keep themselves and their mates save on the job.

 

What your people will get:

  • Improve their communication skills…communication affects everything!
  • Create team goal/s - and solid plans to achieve their goals
  • Get better results, through making better decisions
  • Solve problems as a team – use the strength of many brains
  • Grow their abilities and career potential

Safetree-Reps

Safetree Safety Rep (2-days)

Who it is for: Safety reps

 

What it’s about: The role as a Safety Representative is to encourage the ‘voice of the workers’ to be heard.  

This programme provides the ‘essential skills’ for Reps to be able to effectively and positively interact with all teams as part of their core role to lift safety capability and increase participation.

 

What your people will get:

  • Leadership is Influence - focussing people on key results
  • How to communicate to people who are different from myself
  • People are the solution – not the problem: How to get workers involved in making good safety decisions in the bush
  • True safety is the presence of positives: Focussing our teams on learning from things going right, not just waiting for things to go wrong
