LeadSafe Supervisors - LeadSafe NZ

LeadSafe Supervisors has been developed specifically to meet the needs of the construction and infrastructure industry, to lift the leadership and safety capability of all frontline leaders.
It is endorsed by Construction Health and Safety New Zealand (CHASNZ) and ACC and is the new benchmark in construction for supervisors, creating a common language and skill set that will lift our performance as an industry.

The aim is to enable coalface leaders and supervisors to embrace a safety culture and what they do on site everyday to get great work outcomes and take the lead to ensure everyone on site is safe.

Target participant Developed specifically for “coalface supervisors” and those leading crews within the construction and infrastructure industry.

Learning outcomes

This 2 day programme is designed for you as a frontline supervisor to give you the skills and confidence to:

To lead in role as a safety leader and be proactively involved in the management of safe on site, every day.

Walk the talk and have skills to role modelling the desired skills, safe attitudes and behaviours required on site-including with sub-contractors.

Develop good communication skills to deliver effective and meaningful safety conversations.

Positively influence and rectify inappropriate safety behaviour.

Proactively assess “safety” risks and to drive safe attitudes and working methods in the workplace.

Effectively utilise the safety tools and systems (hazard management, risk identification and assessment, incident investigation) to get better work outcomes.

The programme will prepare your supervisors to take the ConstructSafe Supervisors Knowledge Assessment.
Completing Leadsafe Supervisors is a core part of becoming a Blackhat. The BlackHat programme, lead by CHASNZ, is about raising the standard of supervisor health and safety leadership and competency across New Zealand.

Modules and format

Investment

Per group of 12 participants = $15,000 +GST ( $1250 +GST per person rate).
The programme is part of the ACC Injury Prevention Grant scheme, with up to 50% funding potentially available for construction and infrastructure companies with 6-99 employees. You can find out more here.
